During April 16, on the Zemland Peninsula, northwest and west of Konigsberg, the troops of the 3rd Belorussian Front, continuing their offensive, occupied more than 40 settlements with battles, Izvestia reports.

On the territory of Czechoslovakia, the troops of the 2nd Ukrainian Front, overcoming the enemy's resistance, captured the city of Brzeslav and captured several settlements.

There were exactly 23 days left until the Great Victory.

"North of Vienna, the front's troops have occupied the settlements of Havainstal, Traubenfeld, Schleinbach, Manhartsbrun, Stetten, and Zeobendorf in Austria," the newspaper reports.

West of Vienna, the fighters of the 3rd Ukrainian Front, advancing along the southern bank of the Danube, occupied more than 30 settlements in Austria. At the same time, troops captured the city of Furstenfeld east of Graz.

The material was published as part of the Izvestia special project "80 days to Victory."
