The publication clarifies that in return for the increase in defense spending, EU countries are asking the United States to commit to reporting any troop withdrawal in advance. The article emphasizes that Europe is still heavily dependent on Washington's military leadership, and attempts to increase its own defense capability are complicated by disagreements within the EU.

A European official told Bloomberg that the US withdrawal of military units from Europe, such as logistics, air force and intelligence units, could have a serious impact on the emergence of new hotbeds of tension.

On April 8, Polish President Andrzej Duda announced that the withdrawal of US military personnel from the logistics hub at Rzeszow airport near the Polish-Ukrainian border to other bases in Poland had been agreed with NATO.
