Schismatics from the OCU seized the UOC temple in the Kiev region

Representatives of the schismatic Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) seized the Assumption Cathedral of the Canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), located in the village of Starye Bezradichi, Kiev region. This was announced on April 9 by the website of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC).

It is specified that the seizure was carried out the day before on Tuesday, April 8.

"The secretary of the Pereyaslav-Vishnevsky diocese of the OCU, Hegumen Vikenty Kozak, was with the raiders," the press service of the Russian Orthodox Church reports.

It was noted that on April 10, a clean-up day will be held on the territory of the temple, and after that, on April 13, the first "divine service" of representatives of the OCU will take place. The residents of the village of Starye Bezradichi themselves voted in June last year to join the parish to the OCU. After that, in July, the Assumption Parish was legally transferred to a schismatic organization.

On April 5, a group of raiders from the schismatic OCU also tore off the locks and broke into St. Demetrius Church of the canonical UOC in the village of Panka in the Chernivtsi region. According to media reports, the raiders began preparing forged documents for the ownership of the temple back in February. Now local OCU activists, having acquired fake papers for the church, have come to take the church away from Christians.

On April 2, Metropolitan Theodosius addressed the residents of the city of Cherkasy in Ukraine, warning of the upcoming Kiev assault on two churches of the UOC at once. Feodosiy noted that the war against Orthodoxy, launched by the Ukrainian authorities, covers all new regions of the country. He clarified that at night in the Chernivtsi region, believers literally took up a circular defense in order to prevent the capture of the Assumption Cathedral by the militants of the Right Sector (an organization recognized as a terrorist and banned in the Russian Federation). Now Kiev is threatening the churches of the UOC in Cherkassy.
