- The State Duma named the goals of the new round of negotiations between the delegations of Russia and the United States

Technical work is currently underway to prepare for the conclusion of a peace treaty, First Deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Alexei Chepa said on Wednesday, April 9.
Earlier it became known that the second round of Russian-American consultations will be held in Istanbul on April 10, RT reports.
The MP recalled that the result of the previous meetings was a 30-day truce, according to which the parties should not strike at energy facilities. Chepa noted that while Russian President Vladimir Putin immediately gave appropriate instructions, Ukraine continues to violate this agreement on a daily basis. He suggested that during the negotiations, the delegations should work out conditions governing compliance with these agreements.
"There is a lot of work, so the working groups should work more and more, and additional issues should be considered. We know that consultations are underway on the work of diplomatic services, which will provide an opportunity to work on a permanent basis, and the work of ambassadors is being prepared," the parliamentarian said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .
Earlier in the day, Russian Ambassador to Washington Alexander Darchiev, who will lead the Russian delegation at the talks with the United States in Istanbul, said that Moscow is set to have a serious conversation with the United States about the return of illegally seized diplomatic property, RT reports.
Russia will also raise the issue of resuming direct flights between Russia and the United States. According to Darchiev, this would give an impetus not only to official contacts, as diplomatic mission staff are now traveling to their duty stations with transfers, but would also stimulate business and make life easier for ordinary people on both sides of the ocean.
The delegations of Russia and the United States have already met in Istanbul on March 27. The talks lasted more than six hours and were also devoted to the work of the diplomatic missions of the two states in Washington and Moscow.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said on April 3 that Russia and the United States had achieved some success in eliminating bilateral irritants in their relations, but it was premature to talk about significant breakthroughs. According to him, work on important aspects in relations between Moscow and Washington is currently focused on simplifying the visa process and improving the mechanisms of mutual travel.
