The attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on Russian energy facilities and the infrastructure of the Turkish Stream signal that the Ukrainian side intends to disrupt the peaceful settlement of the conflict and the agreements on a moratorium on strikes on the energy sector. Dmitry Gusev, first deputy head of the Fair Russia – for Truth faction in the State Duma and first deputy chairman of the State Duma Control Committee, told Izvestia on April 9.

"The only way for the government, the regime that currently exists in Ukraine, to continue conducting military operations, which they are doing. And despite the fact that they say with their words that they want peace, their actions say exactly the opposite," Gusev believes.

In addition, the pumping station of the Caspian pipeline consortium, which pumps oil from western Kazakhstan to the ports of the Black Sea, was affected by the Ukrainian strikes. Its main shareholders include Kazakhstan and the United States.

Turkish political analyst Mehmet Perincek also said that such attacks on energy facilities and gas pipelines are directly directed against Turkey's economic security and economy. He clarified that Ankara would reconsider its policy towards Kiev.

It is noted that the Turkish Stream was the only route for transporting fuel to the West, on which the stability of the economies of Southern European countries and Turkey depends.

Earlier this day, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Ukrainian soldiers attacked the Korenovskaya compressor station in the Krasnodar Territory, which provides gas supply to the Turkish Stream.
