KamAZ has announced the expansion of the K5 truck range

KAMAZ has announced new models of K5 generation trucks with improved technical characteristics and consumer properties. They will be presented in 2025, the press service of the auto giant announced in its Telegram channel on April 9.

The main area of work will be the production of specialized chassis for special equipment factories. They will be presented in the range of transport, heavy, all-wheel drive and medium-tonnage families, the company said.

This year, production of the KamAZ-65656 truck tractor with a 6×4 wheel formula and the -65657 chassis with the same wheel formula will begin. It is also expected that the KamAZ-65959 all-wheel drive dump truck with a 6×6 wheel formula with a single-pitched tire and the -65958 chassis with an 8×8 wheel formula will be launched on the market. Separately, the company is working on the KamAZ-63934 chassis, which is being created for the needs of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The pilot batch will be released at the end of 2025.

Currently, the KamAZ K5 line of vehicles and chassis includes five families: mainline (-54901, -65659), transport (-54902, -65658), heavy (-6595, -65951, -65952, -65955), all-wheel drive (-65954) and medium-tonnage (-53251). In the future, each of them will include several models.

The day before, it was reported that, as Sergey Kogogin, CEO of KAMAZ, said, the localization of K5 generation trucks exceeds 70%. The cabin and frame of the K5 truck are completely localized, the engine is more than 80%. It is impossible to achieve one hundred percent localization, but already in China and India there is a large base of suppliers who can offer products of high enough quality, he stressed.
