The media reported on Trump Jr.'s visit to Romania at the end of April.

The son of the American leader Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr., will visit Romania on the eve of the presidential elections in that country. This was announced on April 9 by the Axios portal.
"Trump is traveling to Romania to attend the Trump Business Vision 2025 business event as part of a speaking tour organized by Salem Media," the newspaper writes.
According to Axios, the son of the US president does not plan to meet with Romanian government officials during the visit. It is noted that he will also visit Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Serbia and Slovakia.
The first round of the Romanian presidential election was held on November 24, 2024. According to official sources, opposition politician Calin Georgescu was in the lead with 22.94% of the vote, but on November 28, the country's Constitutional Court demanded that the Central Election Commission recount the results. They were cancelled on December 6. Repeat elections will be held in Romania on May 4, with a second round scheduled for May 18.
On March 9, Romania's Central Election Commission (CEC) refused to register Georgescu as a candidate for the second presidential election. On March 11, the country's Constitutional Court upheld the CEC's decision. At the same time, Georgescu called the decision to remove him from the elections a blow to democracy.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, in turn, called Georgescu's non-admission a violation of all norms of democracy. According to him, any elections that take place without a candidate will be illegitimate.
