The Investigative Committee opened a case of a terrorist attack after the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked two power facilities in the Kursk region.

The Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia has opened a criminal case into the shelling of two energy infrastructure facilities in the Kursk region by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced on April 9 in the press service of the department.

"The Main Military Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia has opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under paragraphs "a", "b", Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act")," the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation said in a Telegram channel.

According to the investigation, the attacks by the Ukrainian military on Kurskenergo's high-voltage lines were targeted. As a result of the shelling, residents of the Bolshesoldatsky and Belovsky districts of the region were left without electricity, the Investigative Committee clarified.

The attacks on high-voltage lines in the Kursk region on April 8 were reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense earlier that day. The ministry clarified that as a result of the attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, residents of the villages of Bolshoe Soldatskoye, Kamyshnoye and Krupets were left without electricity.
