Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Vulin announced on Wednesday, April 9, that the European Union (EU) is preparing a project to overthrow President Aleksandar Vucic.

"The attempt to overthrow my government on the streets of Belgrade is not a protest by the discontented, but the active work of Western intelligence services and the political project of the Brussels administration to replace President Vucic," the deputy prime minister told TASS.

He added that Brussels plans to bring a new government to power in Serbia, which will be in line with EU policy, namely with the recognition of Kosovo, the rejection of Republika Srpska and the imposition of sanctions against Russia.

Student demonstrations in Belgrade began on March 15. More than 30,000 students came out to protest, joined by a convoy of 100 tractors. The reason for the beginning of the demonstrations of students and the opposition was the death of 15 people as a result of the collapse of the canopy of the railway station in Novi Sad.

On March 23, Vulin said that anti-government actions in the country are aimed at destroying the state, and not at working out solutions.
