Two Petersburgers were detained on suspicion of organizing a contract killing.

In St. Petersburg, two local residents were detained for organizing a contract killing for the sake of an apartment. This was announced on April 9 by the city's main investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the Telegram channel.
"The First Directorate for the investigation of particularly important cases has initiated a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Article 30, paragraph "a, z" of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Preparation for the organization of murder for hire"), — stated in the message.
It is specified that the suspects decided to order the murder of male and female acquaintances, whom they disliked, in order to take over their money and apartment. To do this, they found a "performer," but the man informed the police about their plans.
According to the plan, the "perpetrator" was supposed to come with the suspect to visit the victims, give them sleeping pills and steal money and property documents, after which he took them to the village of Lisiy Nos to commit murder and conceal the bodies.
However, their plan failed and law enforcement agencies were able to detain the defendants.
"The suspects have been brought to the investigator. They will be charged in the near future and the issue will be resolved as soon as possible," the department added.
On February 11, police officers in Moscow detained a woman who was trying to hire a hitman to kill her husband in order to stop the divorce process. It was clarified that at first the woman turned to private detectives with a request to collect information about her spouse. But later she announced that she was in the process of divorce and was looking for a killer. After the meeting, the detectives told the police everything.
