Nabiullina called the changes in world trade tectonic

The head of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, Elvira Nabiullina, said at a speech in the State Duma on April 9 that the current changes in world trade can be called tectonic.
"Another factor (influencing monetary policy. — Ed.) — tectonic changes in world trade. They are unfolding before our eyes," Nabiullina said.
She noted that it is difficult to predict how they will affect the global economy and Russia in particular.
According to the head of the Central Bank, this is a new significant risk that should be taken into account.
On April 2, US President Donald Trump announced the introduction of 10% base duties on products imported from other countries. For the EU, this figure was raised to 20%, and for China — to 34%. On April 4, Beijing imposed retaliatory duties of 34% against the United States, after which on April 8, Washington announced an increase in anti-Chinese duties to 104%.
