Hundreds of cultural sites in Transbaikalia need restoration

In Transbaikalia, several hundred cultural heritage sites are in need of restoration. One of the main reasons for the lack of repairs is the lack of funds. The ChitaMedia news agency writes about this with reference to the accelerator for tour guides.
According to Svetlana Salmina, a senior researcher at the State Research Institute for the Protection and Preservation of Windows in Transbaikalia, in Chita, it is necessary to repair the burned-out premises on Amurskaya Street with unique carvings, the building on the corner of Stolyarova and Ingodinskaya streets.
The specialist also drew attention to the absence of contractors in the region who can do the restoration. So, all work must be performed by designers who have a license for this, and only one organization in the region meets these requirements.
In addition, there is often a problem with the documents during the examination of the object. The owners do not know exactly what kind of work was carried out and provide false information.
Earlier it was reported that the authorities of Transbaikalia do not plan to build a modular building for the exhibits of the Decembrist Museum in Chita to put them there during the renovation. Information about the construction of the facility was denied by the regional Ministry of Culture. However, the ministry noted that the exhibits would still have to be moved to another location. It was reported that the source of financing for the reconstruction of the museum has not yet been determined, the timing of work is also not known, and there are no decisions on buildings either.
