The third ammunition found in a week was defused in the Administrative District

As told to IA EAOmedia in the press service of the Rosgvardiya department for the region, a suspicious object was discovered by an excavator driver who was working on the dumps of a local quarry. The staff of the OMON "Mizreh" mine clearance group promptly arrived at the scene.

During the inspection, the experts found that the condition of the ammunition was unsatisfactory and it could not be transported. In this regard, it was decided to destroy it with an overhead charge.
The operation was uneventful. The security threat has been eliminated.

Experts do not rule out that the shell was left after the 1997 fire at an artillery ammunition depot near the settlement.

The agency notes that this is the third live shell found in the vicinity of the village of Bira over the past week.

Earlier, on April 2, it was reported that a shell from the Great Patriotic War was destroyed at a landfill in the Lipetsk region. An explosive object was found the day before in a field near the village of Znamenskoye in the Izmalkovsky district, 2 km from the houses.
