An ice break is expected on the Amur River near Komsomolsk-on-Amur from April 23 to April 30. This forecast was made by hydrologists. They warned that ice movement could start 2-4 days earlier than usual. In early May, the process of opening the Amur River in the mouth of the river should be completed.

According to the hydrologists of the Khabarovsk Hydrometeorological Center, cited by IA AmurMedia, there are no significant changes in the ice regime on the rivers of the region so far. The Amur River recorded a rise in water levels by 10-20 cm, in some places by 30 cm per day. Near Khabarovsk, the ice on the Amur River is expected to break around April 18.

Pavel Listratenko, head of the department of the regional government's Committee for Civil Protection, said that 14 out of 40 winter workers remained in the region. Four crossings continue to operate in the Ayano-Maysky district, the same number in the Okhotsk district, three in the Polina Osipenko district, two in the Nikolaevsky district and one in Verkhnebureinsky. But they will close soon too.

Since the beginning of winter, several dangerous accidents have been reported on the ice.

On March 29, three people died in the Cherepovets district of the Vologda region after falling through the ice of Lake Kolodenskoe. The press service of the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations clarified that four people came out onto the ice, one of whom was able to get out on his own.
