The Russian government has allocated funds to more than 40 regions to implement fertility support programs. This was announced on April 9 by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

"All this is necessary to achieve the national goal set by the president, which is to preserve the population and improve the well—being of our people," the Prime minister said.

He noted that the government has approved an action strategy for the implementation of family and demographic policy until 2036. As part of this program, it is planned to create conditions for increasing the number of families with children in the country, as well as the growth of the younger generation of Russians.

Earlier, on March 4, the head of the Novgorod Region, Alexander Dronov, during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, said that starting next year, parents in the region will receive an additional 350 thousand rubles from the regional budget at the birth of their first child. In addition to federal payments, Novgorod families where the first child was born will receive about 1 million rubles.
