- A resident of the Omsk region received 11 years for raising funds for drones for terrorists

A court in the Omsk region sentenced a 26-year-old resident of the Bolsheukovsky district to 11 years in prison for publicly calling for financing of the Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK) terrorist organization banned in Russia and for raising funds for drones for it. This was announced on April 9 by the press service of the regional prosecutor's office.
"A verdict has been passed against a 26-year—old resident of the Bolsheukovsky district of the Omsk region, who was found guilty of committing a crime under Part 1.1 of Article 205.1, part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Financing and public justification of terrorism using the Internet")," the agency's website says.
According to the regional prosecutor's office, in January 2024, a man posted a post on a social network calling for raising money to buy drones for the militants of a terrorist organization. He admitted his guilt, but stated that he did not know about the ban on the RDC in Russia.
The court sentenced him to 11 years in prison with a ban on publishing materials online for a period of three years. The defendant's phone, which was used to publish appeals, was confiscated.
Earlier, on April 4, the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia announced the detention of a serviceman suspected of preparing a terrorist attack in the Moscow region. He came into contact with the Ukrainian special services and received an explosive device with the intention of wrapping himself in explosives and detonating it. In exchange, the curators promised to transport his children to Western countries.
Later that day, it became known that the military was planning to stage a terrorist attack in the dormitory of military university cadets in the Moscow region.
