Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto said the country is ready to accept the wounded and orphans from Gaza after discussing this with the Palestinian government. This was reported on April 9 by the Jakarta Globe newspaper.

"We are ready to receive the injured. Therefore, we will send our foreign minister to consult with the Palestinian government," the newspaper quoted Subianto as saying.

At the first stage, Indonesia is ready to use its evacuation planes to provide shelter to about 1,000 Gazans, the newspaper reports. At the same time, the Indonesian president set a condition: the evacuees should return to their homeland when the situation in the region improves.

"Evacuees can only stay in Indonesia temporarily until they recover. They should return to where they came from as soon as the situation in Gaza allows it," the politician explained.

Earlier, on April 6, Al Jazeera TV channel reported that at least 43 people were killed in the fighting of the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip during the day. The death toll includes one victim killed in the attack on al-Zawaida, as well as three killed in an earlier Israeli strike on the village of Jabalia.

The Israeli army resumed military operations against the Palestinian movement in Gaza on March 18. The press service of the Gaza Ministry of Health reported on March 28 that since then, more than 890 people have been killed and more than 1,980 injured in renewed attacks on the Palestinian enclave.
