A fire broke out in a nursing home in eastern China, killing at least 20 people. This was reported on April 9 by the Xinhua news Agency, citing municipal authorities.

According to the agency, the fire occurred on Tuesday, April 8, at about 21:00 local time (16:00 Moscow time) in one of the counties of the Chengdu city district of Hebei province.

Currently, the remaining elderly people who were in the building at the time of the incident have been transferred to a nearby hospital. The cause of the fire has not been determined at the moment, the publication says.
