NMG talked about the goal of leadership in the information and entertainment market

The National Media Group (NMG) is expanding its horizons and setting a new goal — to become a leader in the information and entertainment market, exploring all possibilities, including offline. This was announced on April 9 by NMG CEO Svetlana Balanova.

According to her, over the past few years, NMG has been able to achieve significant success in creating the largest media factory in Russia and reach the industrial scale of content and news production. Now, she added, the company is looking for new opportunities beyond media formats.

"Over the past 3-4 years, we have had the task of building the best media factory in the country. We have reached the industrial scale of content and news production. <...> The next goal that we set ourselves is to become a leader in the information and entertainment market. It's not just about media formats. We are exploring all possibilities, including offline," Balanova said in an interview with RBC.

In addition, the CEO spoke about NMG's intention to acquire Medialogia, one of the leaders in the field of reputation and information risk management. According to her, Medialogy will be able to help avoid large reputational risks, as well as a negative impact on competitiveness.

"We often forget that the appearance of some negative comment on social networks or in the media, if properly processed, can turn into a positive case for a brand, for a government agency, and so on. And if it is launched and not completed on time, it can entail very high reputational risks and negatively affect competitiveness. Medialogy works precisely in this field. As a media holding, this is a very complementary business for us," said the CEO of NMG.

Last November, Balanova, speaking at the strategic session of the annual National Advertising Forum in Moscow, said that 94% of viewers in Russia positively assessed the new content of the domestic media industry, and therefore NMG will increase the production of unique projects.
