The death toll from the roof collapse at the Dominican nightclub Jet Set has risen to 79. This was reported on April 8 by the newspaper ListÍn Diario, citing the director of the emergency management center, Juan Mendes.

According to the newspaper, Mendes assured that the search for people remaining under the rubble continues. He clarified that rescuers had not found any survivors in recent hours. Additional circumstances of the incident are being established.

The collapse of the roof of a nightclub in the Dominican Republic became known on April 8. The cause has not yet been determined. The incident occurred during a party by merengue performer Rubby Perez.

The Russian Embassy in the Dominican Republic told Izvestia that, according to preliminary data, foreign citizens are not on the lists of dead and injured as a result of the roof collapse.
