Russian wrestler Usmanov became a two-time European freestyle wrestling champion

On April 8, Russian wrestler Akhmed Usmanov won a duel with French representative Zelimkhanov Hadjiev in Bratislava and thereby became a two-time European freestyle wrestling champion.

Usmanov is 28 years old, he competed in the weight category up to 79 kg. He won his previous gold at the European Championships in 2024.

The European Freestyle Wrestling Championship is taking place in Bratislava from April 7 to April 14.

On the same day, it was reported that Russian fighters Nanich Mongush and Ibrahim Ibrahimov won the European Wrestling Championship in Bratislava. Mongush took gold in the final bout in the weight category up to 57 kg. He defeated Serbian athlete Azamat Tuskaev. Ibragimov also won gold at the European Wrestling Championships in the weight category up to 65 kg.
