The Czech Prosecutor's Office accused a citizen of illegally joining the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In the Czech Republic, the prosecutor's office has accused citizen Lukasz Pashkuliak of committing a criminal offense. He became part of the Army of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) without the permission of the President of the Republic. This was reported on April 8 by the Czech newspaper Ceské noviny.

The incident became known in July 2023. The man is also accused of supporting and propagandizing terrorism due to the fact that he had previously tried to become part of a formation in Iraq that is included in the European Union list of terrorist organizations of the Kurdistan Workers' Party.

In Ukraine, Pashkulyak worked as a member of the Carpathian Sich volunteer battalion, which is part of the Ukrainian army. The accused faces up to 15 years in prison.

On April 7, the press service of the Prosecutor's Office of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) announced the conviction of a mercenary from Georgia to 14 years in prison for participating in the conflict on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It was clarified that the mercenary had received military training.
