Russian hockey player Demidov will transfer from SKA to Montreal this season.

Ivan Demidov, a forward of the St. Petersburg hockey club SKA, will become a player of the Montreal Canadiens National Hockey League (NHL) team. This was announced on April 8 in the official Telegram channel of the Russian club.
"SKA and Ivan Demidov have jointly decided that the striker will join the Montreal Canadiens this season," HC said in a statement.
It is noted that the rights to the player in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) will remain with the Russian club: if he fails to gain a foothold in the NHL, he will return to St. Petersburg.
Earlier that day, Olympic medalist in the Russian national ice hockey team, striker Arseniy Gritsyuk announced his retirement from SKA. According to the Sport-Express newspaper, the hockey player's contract with the St. Petersburg club expires on May 31, then he will sign a rookie contract with the New Jersey Devils.
