The Chinese Foreign Ministry called Vance's words about "Chinese peasants" ignorant

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian called the words of US Vice President Jay D. Vance about "Chinese peasants" impolite and ignorant. This was reported on April 8 by the China News Service.
His comments came after Vance said in a recent interview that the United States had borrowed money from "Chinese peasants to buy what these Chinese peasants produce" while discussing the current administration's foreign trade policy with China.
According to CNN, Vance's statement caused a strong reaction in China. Since industrial robots are used in factories there, cities are switching to local electric vehicles, and remote settlements are connected by a nationwide network of high-speed railways.
On April 7, Lin Jian said that the abuse of duties by the United States is economic bullying, harming not only other countries, but also Washington itself. According to him, this seriously infringes on the legitimate rights and interests of other states, as well as violates WTO rules.
