Mongush and Ibragimov won the European Wrestling Championship

Russian fighters Nanich Mongush and Ibragim Ibragimov won the European Wrestling Championship in Bratislava on April 8.

Mongush won gold in the final bout in the weight category up to 57 kg. He defeated Serbian athlete Azamat Tuskaev. Aryan Tyutrin from Belarus and Islam Bazarganov from Azerbaijan took the bronze places.

The winner of the European Championship is currently 25 years old. Mongush won gold in this tournament for the first time this year. Earlier, in 2021, he took second place in the competition.

Russian fighter Ibragim Ibragimov also took gold at the European Wrestling Championships in the weight category up to 65 kg. In the final bout, he defeated Khamzat Arsamerzuev from France. The bronze places were taken by Vazgen Tevanyan from Armenia and Ali Rahimzad from Azerbaijan.

The European Freestyle Wrestling Championship is taking place in Bratislava from April 7 to April 14, writes Sport-Express.

Earlier, on April 6, it became known that the two-time Olympic champion in freestyle wrestling, Russian Abdulrashid Sadulaev, would not participate in the European Championships in Bratislava due to the lack of a visa. He wished the team to show their maximum capabilities and "most importantly, avoid injuries."
