- The State Duma adopted a draft on extending the deadline for the execution of the decision on conscription

On April 8, the State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted in the second and third readings a bill extending the deadline for the execution of the decision on conscription.
"According to the law, if the decision on conscription for military service has not been executed for some reason, it will be valid for another year and the conscript will be sent to the army during the next draft," the website of the lower house says.
It is noted that such recruits will not need to undergo repeated medical and psychological examinations. At the same time, the draft commission will be able to cancel the decision on conscription in the event that any hindering circumstances arise on the day of its execution.
In addition, the bill adopted by the Duma exempts members of volunteer units from conscription, as well as Russians who have participated in hostilities in the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics for more than six months since May 2014.
On March 31, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on spring conscription from April 1 to July 15. According to the documents, the decree concerns Russian citizens aged 18 to 30 years. It is planned to call 160 thousand Russians.
