The Moscow garrison military court extended the measure of restraint for six months to Tarkhan Eldukaev, a person involved in the attempted murder of singer Avraham Russo. This was reported on April 8 by a correspondent of Izvestia.

Eldukaev is charged with attempted murder of Rousseau, as well as organizing an attempt on the brothers, entrepreneurs Tahir and Telman Gurshumov.

Russo's lawyer, Andrei Alyoshkin, told Izvestia that Eldukayev's defense requested that the preventive measure be changed to house arrest, that the case be returned to the prosecutor, that bail be applied, and that the criminal case be terminated.

Eldukaev was detained and arrested in October 2023. According to investigators, in 2004 he acted as the executor of the criminal plan of the former owner of Cherkizovsky market Telman Ismailov, who is currently on the international wanted list. Eldukaev hired three men, one of whom shot Rousseau several times, wounding him. The victim received medical assistance. Eldukaev did not admit his guilt.

An attempt on the artist's life took place on the night of August 19, 2006, near his house on Plushykha Street. Russo suffered injuries to his left hip. The actor was hospitalized. He has been treating injuries after an assassination attempt for many years. He has already undergone several surgeries, but old injuries periodically remind him of themselves. During an examination in March 2023, it turned out that the artist underwent a vein bypass surgery a year ago to restore blood circulation.

In November 2022, a jury found guilty the defendants in the case of the attempted assassination of Russo, Vitaly Jura, Alexei Tryasnikov and Mikhail Demkin. They were charged under articles "Attempted murder", "Illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation, transfer or carrying of weapons" and "Complicity in attempted murder".

On October 28, 2024, it became known that the criminal prosecution of Vladimir Shestopalov, a person involved in the abduction of singer Avraham Russo in 2004, had been terminated. It was noted that the court had made such a decision due to the expiration of the statute of limitations. The Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested Shestopalov in the case of the abduction of Russo in early September 2024. Prior to his arrest, the defendant had been on the federal wanted list for several years. During the confrontation, the singer identified Shestopalov.

On October 22, 2024, the Moscow City Court extended the arrest of Tarkhan Eldukaev, another accomplice to Russo's abduction, until January 25, 2025. He was detained and arrested by law enforcement officers in October 2023. The man was charged with kidnapping and attempted murder.
