The Turkish authorities have decided to abandon the ban on the export of lemons abroad. This was announced on April 8 by the country's Trade Minister Omer Bolat.

"The temporary restriction on lemon exports has been lifted, and the price dynamics in the domestic market will be carefully monitored, and inspections will continue in the coming period," A Haber TV channel quoted him as saying.

It is specified that Bolat met with farmers, deputies and experts in trade. At the meeting, they discussed the requirements that need to be taken to ensure a balance between supply and demand, as well as security of supply in the market.

"As a government, we will continue to protect and support our farmers, producers, exporters, traders and consumers," the Turkish Trade Minister concluded.

On April 7, it became known that Turkey would suspend the export of lemons due to the frosts that hit the southern provinces of the country. The country's Ministry of Trade explained that the decision was made in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry to maintain a balance of supply and demand in the domestic market.
