A woman died after falling into a river due to strong winds in Transbaikalia.

In the Trans-Baikal Territory, a woman died after she and her child fell into a river due to a strong gust of wind. This was announced on April 8 by the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the region in the Telegram channel.

It is noted that when crossing the suspension bridge between the village of Priiskovy and the village of Mikhaylovka, a woman and her child fell into the river due to strong winds.

"Medical workers were unable to save her after extracting her from the river. The child is currently receiving medical care," the message says.

The department added that investigators have opened a criminal case on this fact.

So far, some rivers are flooded, while others have critically low water levels.

On March 29, three people died in the Cherepovets district of the Vologda region after falling through the ice of Lake Kolodenskoe. The press service of the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations clarified that four people came out onto the ice, one of whom was able to get out on his own.
