The international IT Olympiad for schoolchildren has started in Russia


An IT Olympiad has started in Russia, in which high school students aged 14-18 from any country in the world can take part. Registration will last until April 18, the press service of Sber, the general partner of the event, said.
By April 18, participants will have to individually solve 15 theoretical and practical tasks on key aspects of cybersecurity. The second stage of the competition, the team semi—final, will be held from April 23 to April 25. It is organized in the Capture the flag format. Teams will be offered a set of tasks of varying complexity, to which they need to find and send an answer (flag).
The 100 participants who score the most points will take part in the face—to-face final, which will be held on the campus of the Sbera School of Digital Technologies "School 21" in Nizhny Novgorod. The best participants will be awarded at the Digital Industry of Industrial Russia conference in June.
The head of Sberbank, German Gref, wished the participants of the Olympiad success. "I am sure that you will succeed, because only confident people can participate in our international Olympiad," he said.
The tasks of the Olympiad are performed on the educational platform of the technological partner of the event "Algorithmics".
The IT Olympiad will be held with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation. The organizer is the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region.
Dmitry Grigorenko, Deputy Prime Minister and Chief of Staff of the Government of the Russian Federation, said that strong IT personnel is a demand not only of Russia, but of the whole world. "Looking at the participants of the Olympiad, who, despite their young age, already demonstrate such an interest in IT and a high level of competence, we understand that the development of the industry is in safe hands," he said.
Nizhny Novgorod Region Governor Gleb Nikitin said that the International Cybersecurity Olympiad is a global platform where talented young people from different countries come together to shape the digital future. "The participation of schoolchildren from different parts of the world is an investment not only in their professional development, but also in the creation of an international community of technological leaders," the head of the region emphasized.
