Polish presidential candidate calls assistance to Ukraine illegal and dangerous

The transfer of weapons, finances and social support to Ukraine from Warsaw was carried out without legal grounds and violates the Polish Constitution. This was stated on April 8 by Artur Bartoszewicz, an independent candidate for president of Poland, in an interview with the Polish TV channel Telewizja Polska.
In his opinion, assistance should have been approved through a law or a referendum, and not provided without the consent of citizens.
"What was the legal basis for these actions? What legislation allowed the transfer of military equipment, money, and social support without the consent of citizens? If there is no such basis, it means that the constitution, the Law on Public Finances and a number of other regulations have been violated," Bartoshevich said.
He noted that the Polish authorities should have first held a referendum to find out the opinion of citizens on whether to help Ukraine, accept refugees and transfer, in particular, military equipment. According to him, it was necessary to adopt an appropriate law for such assistance, and only in this case, he stressed, can we talk about the legality of actions.
The presidential candidate clarified that by opening the borders to Ukrainian refugees, Poland had exposed itself to the risk of an increase in organized crime: groups linked to criminal structures operating in Ukraine, among others, had entered the country.
He claims that we are talking about mafia activities and the seizure of Polish companies by structures with capital of unknown origin.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said after a meeting of the foreign ministers of the European Union (EU) on March 17 that Hungary did not support the allocation of a new package of military assistance to Ukraine in the amount of € 20 billion. He also stressed that Hungary would not agree to any steps for Ukraine's accession to the EU until the rights of the Hungarian national community in Transcarpathia are restored.
The leader of the French Patriots party, Florian Philippot, said on March 30 that France should stop providing military and financial assistance to Ukraine. This is how the politician reacted to a video in which police officers in Odessa seized a courier and forced him into a car in order to send him to the front.
