Hockey player Gritsyuk announced his retirement from St. Petersburg SKA

Olympic medalist in the Russian national ice hockey team, striker Arseniy Gritsyuk announced his retirement from the St. Petersburg club SKA. The athlete announced this on April 8.
"I have no doubt that new bright victories await St. Petersburg! Army of SKA fans, you are forever in my heart, and here I have found my second home," Hrytsyuk wrote on his Instagram page (owned by Meta, a company whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).
In the 2024/25 season, Hrytsyuk played 55 games for SKA in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) regular season and scored 49 points. According to the Sport-Express newspaper, the hockey player's contract with SKA expires on May 31, then he will sign a rookie contract with the New Jersey Devils club.
Earlier, on March 2, SKA lost its fourth match in a row, losing to Dinamo Minsk in the KHL regular season with a score of 2:1. Christopher Tierney (4) and Vadim Shipachev (6) scored goals for the winners. Marat Khairullin (37) scored for the St. Petersburg club.
