Since the beginning of 2025, 876 fires have occurred in the Pskov region. As a result of the fires, 20 people died.

According to the Pskov news feed, 703 fires occurred due to careless handling of fire. Another 56 incidents are related to violations of the rules of installation and operation of the furnace. Such causes of gorenje were electrical malfunctions, violations during gas welding operations, leaving an open fire source unattended, pranks by children and arson.

Of the 20 dead, six were drunk at the time of the fire. The death of children is not allowed.

The total damage from the fires exceeded 20.5 million rubles.
