The expert spoke about the change in payments to working pensioners

Igor Balynin, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, told how the payments of working pensioners have changed.
In conversation with aif.ru On Tuesday, April 8, the expert noted that the insurance pensions of working pensioners in Russia after indexation in 2025 increased at a rate higher than the inflation rate, with an average increase of more than 13%.
The expert pointed out that from 2016 to 2024, the insurance pensions of working pensioners were not indexed. Meanwhile, information about the indexations was recorded on an individual personal account. There you can also get acquainted with the amount of pension that is accrued to the pensioner now, and with the amount that will be credited to him after his dismissal.
"In 2025, the insurance pensions of working pensioners increased at a rate above inflation. This is due to the fact that the indexation of pensions for working pensioners has been resumed in 2025 and is carried out from the amount that would have been paid upon termination of employment," the specialist explained.
Earlier in the day, the Social Fund of Russia announced that since April 1, the indexation of state pension pensions by 14.75% has begun in Russia. It will affect 4.2 million Russians, NSN clarifies. Insurance pensions have already increased in January, social benefits have increased in February, and state pensions are now being indexed.
On the same day, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Property, Land and Property Relations, member of the National Financial Council of the Bank of Russia Sergey Gavrilov announced that starting in January 2026, the procedure for double indexation of insurance pensions will be in effect in Russia. According to him, the main goal of the new scheme is to take into account various economic factors and bring pension payments closer to real changes in salaries and price levels, IA Regnum notes.
On April 7, the dean of the HSE Faculty of Law, Professor Vadim Vinogradov, in an interview with RT, stated that in order to receive a pension, it is necessary to have 15 years of experience. He added that the minimum sum of the coefficients is 30. Informal employment can lead to problems with obtaining a pension, the expert warned. The insurance record is not formed in this case, notes 360.ru .
