In Ukraine, they called for saving energy due to the cold snap and increased consumption

Due to the cold snap and increased electricity consumption, residents of Ukraine were urged to save electricity. This was announced on April 8 by the Ukrenergo energy company.

"We ask all consumers, both domestic and business, to reduce the use of powerful electrical appliances and not to turn on several such devices simultaneously between 08:00 and 21:00," the company wrote in its Telegram channel.

They also noted that due to the sharp cold snap in the country, residents began to consume more electricity in all regions. Urkenergo also named a decrease in the production of solar power plants due to cloudy weather as one of the problems. The situation is complicated by the fact that due to the end of the heating season, the generation facilities have stopped working.

Earlier, on March 17, it became known about an emergency blackout in the north-east of Ukraine. It is specified that 1,035 household and 41 legal consumers were left without electricity at that time.
