The Russian Armed Forces (RF Armed Forces) have begun to clean up the village of Guevo in the Kursk region from the remnants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), which did not have time to leave their positions. This was announced on April 8 by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

"In the course of combat work, overcoming unsuccessful enemy resistance in the vicinity and in the village of Guevo, the assault groups of the 22nd motorized Rifle regiment of the North group broke through the defense line of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," the ministry said in a statement.

It is noted that after the liberation of the settlement, the Russian Armed Forces installed the Russian flag on one of the buildings.

The liberation of Guevo in the Kursk region became known earlier that day. In addition, the Russian army defeated the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of Gornal and Oleshnya settlements. According to the Ministry of Defense, the Ukrainian army lost over 290 soldiers in the Kursk area during the day.
