The expert named the best crops for April planting

In April, it is already possible to plant seedlings of early vegetables. The future harvest directly depends on how well and timely the spring events are carried out. At the same time, it is important to choose those varieties and hybrids that are adapted to the conditions of the region. Nikita Chaplin, a deputy of the State Duma (United Russia faction), chairman of the union of summer residents of the Moscow region, told Izvestia about this on April 9.

According to the expert, it is necessary to carefully remove last year's foliage and plant remains, dig up the soil and apply the necessary fertilizers. Organic fertilizers, such as compost or humus, will help improve the soil structure and provide plants with essential nutrients. The expert also advises paying attention to the acidity of the soil, as different crops require different indicators.

The weather in April will not allow to start work in the garden earlier than usual, meteorologists warned.

Chaplin noted that April is a favorable time for planting many crops. This month, seedlings of early vegetables, such as cabbage, tomatoes and peppers, can be planted in greenhouses or greenhouses. The deputy also recommends planting onions, garlic, carrots, radishes and greens directly in the open ground as soon as the soil warms up.

"Don't forget about choosing the right varieties and hybrids adapted to the climatic conditions of your region," added the chairman of the union of summer residents of the Moscow region.

According to the expert, special attention should be paid to protecting plants from diseases and pests. Regular inspection, preventive treatments and timely application of necessary medications will help prevent the spread of diseases and protect crops.

The deputy also advises the use of folk remedies for plant protection, such as herbal infusions and soap solutions, which are safer for the environment.
