In St. Petersburg, the police stopped the illegal migration channel

Police officers have stopped the illegal legalization of migrants in St. Petersburg, and 15 suspects have been detained. This was announced on April 8 by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Irina Volk.
"It has been previously established that two local residents have organized an illegal business. Through an acquaintance, they were looking for foreigners who wanted to enter into a fictitious marriage with Russian citizens in order to obtain a temporary residence permit or a residence permit," Volk clarified in her Telegram channel.
According to police estimates, the attackers demanded payment for their services in the amount of up to 200 thousand rubles. It is specified that the suspects also helped migrants with registration at their place of residence, for this they selected accomplices among the owners of housing in St. Petersburg.
According to Volk, among the 15 detainees there are alleged organizers, fictitious wives, as well as apartment owners. During the searches, documents and other evidence were found and seized.
A criminal case has been opened under Part 2 of Article 322.1 ("Organization of illegal migration") of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Two defendants were given a preventive measure in the form of house arrest, while the rest were banned from certain actions.
On April 7, two women suspected of organizing the illegal residence of more than 230 foreign citizens in the Irkutsk region were detained by the joint efforts of employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the FSB. It was established that a local businesswoman, with the assistance of her friend, concluded fictitious employment contracts with foreigners for a monetary reward.
