In the Kherson region in 2025, it is planned to harvest over 1.5 million tons of crop. On April 7, the governor of the region, Vladimir Saldo, told the Kherson News Agency.
"The headquarters is already working on the sowing campaign. More than 400 thousand hectares of spring crops should be sown, 25 percent have already been sown. It starts earlier in our country, and the sowing season is in full swing. Almost the same amount of winter crops has been sown. It turns out that 800 thousand hectares will be used for grain crops," said Baldo.
According to him, the agrarian sector of the region demonstrates high achievements, despite the decrease in indicators due to the undermining of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric dam by militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and difficult access to water.
It is specified that last year in the Kherson region it was possible to harvest over 1.5 million tons of grain, legumes and oilseeds. Approximately 1.3 million tons were made up of cereals and legumes.
Earlier, on April 1, former Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Doctor of Economics Leonid Kholod told Izvestia about a possible reduction in potato prices in Russia by July. According to him, this will happen due to the appearance of its own harvest in the Russian Federation.
