Russian President Vladimir Putin presented nine-year-old Nastya from the city of Artemovsk, Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), with a puppy of a pomeranian and a husky. On behalf of the head of state, the dog was handed over to the girl on April 8 by Sergey Novikov, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Moscow Region.

Nastya's family moved from Artemovsk to Mytishchi, Moscow region. She wrote about her desire to get a dog in a letter to the president.

"Nastya and her mother were invited to our state veterinary clinic in Mytishchi to give her a gift. This is a puppy of a cross between a pomeranian and a husky at the age of 4-5 months from the shelter of the NGO "CSBJ", — stated on the website of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Moscow region.

It is specified that the girl named the puppy Theo. Nastya was told about the rules of keeping, walking and basic dog care, and was also given food and a carrier. The puppy was registered in a single regional registry, which will make it much faster to find a pet in case it runs away or gets lost.

In May last year, the head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, and the first deputy head of the presidential administration of the Russian Federation, Sergei Kiriyenko, handed over a German Shepherd puppy on behalf of Putin to nine-year-old Masha from Makeyevka. She named the dog Rexy and shared that she would like to meet the head of state in person, "because he's cool."
