Losses have become known due to the recall of OTTS on Shacman trucks

The total losses of Shacman dealers due to the suspension of Vehicle Type Approval for trucks of this brand amount to about 20 billion rubles. This was announced at a press conference by the vice president of the Association of Russian Automobile Dealers (ROAD). Vitaly Kiselyov, the correspondent of Izvestia reports on April 8.
According to the vice president of the ROAD, the suspension of the OTTS applies to 2,171 Shacman trucks.
"These cars are now just standing on dealers' sites, they cannot be sold. Taking into account the cost of one truck of about 10 million rubles, it turns out that in total about 20 billion rubles have actually been frozen," Kiselyov shared.
At the same time, a number of dealers are considering the possibility of re-exporting these cars to China, said Vladimir Pichugin, legal adviser at Shacman Motors. However, this procedure will require a refund from the budget of the payments paid for these cars, he stressed.
"If we evaluate all trucks for which the OTS has been suspended, then we are talking about the return of about 7 billion rubles in the form of customs duties, as well as about 4.5 billion rubles in the form of scrap and 3 billion rubles in the form of VAT," he said.
Representatives of Shakman Motors announced that they had prepared a plan to eliminate claims from Rosstandart and were ready to launch a recall campaign involving both new and operated trucks.
Rosstandart has identified inconsistencies between the Shacman SX3258 truck and a number of mandatory vehicle requirements, which led to the suspension of Vehicle Type Approval from February 7 this year. At the same time, the technical claims in 2023 were not to a new car, but to a private car that was already in service, Shakman Motors said.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that Shakman Motors, together with the Chinese Shaanxi Heavy Duty plant, is preparing a project to localize the production of commercial vehicles in Russia.
