The Kremlin announced the absence of contacts with Japan amid hostile moves.

The Japanese Foreign Ministry has expressed its desire to conclude a peace treaty with Russia, but the Kremlin says there are no contacts with Tokyo. This was announced on April 8 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov at a briefing.
“no. Currently, there are no contacts with the Japanese authorities. You know that Tokyo hastened to fully join all unfriendly and hostile steps towards our country <...> Of course, in these circumstances it is hardly necessary to talk about the possibility of any negotiations," Peskov said.
