The final of the All-Russian Runway Competition will be held in Moscow

The final of the All-Russian Aviation competition "Runway" with Leonid Yakubovich will be held in Moscow on April 12 at 12.00. Finalists from all over Russia will test themselves as a pilot on modern exercise aircraft, flying a Boeing 737 under the supervision of experienced instructors. Hero of the Russian Federation Damir Yusupov and aviator and aviation popularizer Alexey Kochemasov will coordinate the "trainees" in the finals.

The competition started on January 10, during which time qualifying rounds were held in 13 regions of Russia, more than 180 people took part in them. The youngest participant in the competition was a 5–year-old young pilot from Tyumen, and the oldest was a 69-year-old aviator from Moscow. At the same time, trainees from the younger age group under 14 are not far behind the older pilots.

In the final, the participants will become co-pilots under the guidance of an experienced pilot Oleg Novikov. Trainees will have to complete non-standard aircraft control tasks, for example, fly under a bridge on a Boeing. Hero of the Russian Federation Damir Yusupov will observe the flight. Leonid Yakubovich and Alexey Kochemasov will be the commentators of the online broadcast of the finalists' flight.

"The competition, organized by the Dream Aero network of flight training centers, is aimed at drawing attention to the basics of civil aviation, developing aircraft control skills and popularizing the pilot profession among young people and adults. This competition is the first step in collaboration with industry experts, and for many it is the first step in the pilot's profession," comments Leonid Yakubovich, a TV presenter and aviator.

After the announcement of the results, a solemn awarding ceremony will take place, including a super prize. All guests will enjoy a concert and interactive program with a performance by the cover band "Butterfly Effect", the duet "The Prayer" by the finalists of The Voice 11 show, the soloist of the Tutsi group Irina Ortman and a performance by famous theater and film actors.

The competition is being held in Russia for the first time, according to the organizers, it helps participants gain confidence in flying and overcome aerophobia. Participants of different ages can improve their piloting skills and feel more confident in the air – this is especially important for those who are afraid of flying.

The principle of operation of exercise aircraft helps to gradually adapt to flight conditions and reduce anxiety levels.
