The Syrian Embassy in Russia announced the hacking of social networks

The Telegram channel of the Syrian Embassy in Moscow was hacked, through which false information about the change of the ambassador of the Arab republic to Russia was distributed. This was announced on April 8 at the Syrian diplomatic mission.
"The embassy's Telegram channel has been hacked. Official information (about the change of ambassador. — Ed.) neither from the Foreign Ministry nor from the embassy has been received," the embassy told TASS.
Earlier, the diplomatic mission's Telegram channel reported that Syrian Ambassador to Russia Bashar al-Jaafari is completing his work in Moscow and has been appointed to a position in the administration in Damascus.
"We wish Ambassador Jaafari success in his new job, at the central administration in Damascus. Everyone is waiting for you with impatience, Syria needs your diplomatic experience," the message said.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on March 20 that Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the efforts of the Syrian leadership to stabilize the situation in the country as soon as possible. The Russian leader confirmed Russia's readiness to develop practical cooperation with the country's leadership on all issues on the agenda in order to strengthen relations between the two countries.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said last December that Russia was interested in a dialogue with the new Syrian authorities. Moscow plans to discuss not only security issues, but also the regional agenda, he added.
