MTS cancels roaming in Crimea and Sevastopol. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of the Russian Federation informed Izvestia about this on April 8.

It is specified that this is the last of the "big four" operators that retained an additional fee for subscribers on the peninsula.

The Company notified the FAS of Russia about the voluntary execution of the service's order and the termination of the judicial appeal. During the subscribers' stay in the territory of the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, minutes, SMS and gigabytes of Internet connection will be spent from the package or paid according to the standard terms of the tariff plan.

"MTS will implement the new pricing principles in stages, and the operator will completely cancel roaming no later than June 30, 2025. The FAS considers the implementation period technically reasonable," the agency explained.

In October last year, the FAS recognized MTS PJSC as violating the antimonopoly legislation. In April and May 2024, the company increased the cost of cellular services by an average of 8% for more than 30 million subscribers. Based on the results of the analysis, the FAS of Russia found that the increase was economically unjustified and infringed on the interests of consumers.
