A resident of the Chelyabinsk region was detained for propaganda of terrorism

Employees of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Chelyabinsk region detained a resident of the region who was engaged in terrorist and extremist activities. This was announced on April 8 by the press service of the department.

"In the period from July to August 2024, a South Ural man was identified as a supporter of Ukrainian nationalist structures," the FSB said.

The man posted calls on his social media pages for terrorist and extremist activities, public justification or propaganda of terrorism.

In connection with these actions, criminal cases were initiated under Part 2 of Article 205.2 ("Public calls to carry out terrorist activities"), part 2 of Article 280 ("Public calls to carry out extremist activities") and paragraphs "c", "d" of Part 2 of Article 280.4 ("Public calls to activities, directed against the security of the state") of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

Earlier, on April 7, law enforcement officers detained a supporter of a Ukrainian terrorist organization in the Orel region for calling for cooperation with the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). He called on the Russian military to side with the enemy and cooperate with the Armed Forces of Ukraine, providing information about the Russian Armed Forces, and posted videos promoting terrorism on social networks.
