Iranian Foreign Minister confirms meeting with US delegation in Oman

American and Iranian representatives will meet in Oman on Saturday, April 12, for high-level indirect talks. This was announced on April 8 by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi.
"Iran and the United States will meet in Oman on Saturday for high-level indirect talks. This is both an opportunity and a test. The ball is on America's side," Araqchi said in a message on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
In addition, The New York Times journalist Farnaz Fassihi clarified that, according to three Iranian officials, Tehran is open to holding direct talks with Washington.
"Iran has told Washington that it is open and ready for direct negotiations if the first round is successful, which indicates a clear change in position," the journalist wrote on her page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
On April 7, US President Donald Trump announced that the American and Iranian sides were holding direct talks on the Iranian nuclear issue. Trump clarified that on Saturday, April 12, a large meeting "almost at the highest level" will be held between the United States and Iran.
