Russian military personnel spoke about anti-UAV training

Russian servicemen of the 428th Motorized Rifle Regiment (SME) of the Center group of forces spoke about conducting training on combating unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and the nuances during preparation for combat work.

UAV operator Artyom Mozho said that during the training, military personnel are taught the correct methods of retreat when attacking an enemy drone. According to him, you can not run away from the FPV drone with your back to it, you need to look at the UAV, try to shoot back, and at the moment when it gets as close as possible, you can try to deceive the operator and jump sharply to the side.

"It's better to run in such a way that the operator cannot calculate in advance where the person is running, and to loop so that the operator does not throw off in advance, you need to move chaotically," said Maxim Galykin, operator of the 428th SME UAV.

Artem Barabanov, a soldier of the 428th SME, also added that at the moment when the drone went into a U-turn, it could be caught and destroyed. In addition, he noted that such trainings are needed as much as possible, because they are really useful.

"The fact is that in modern warfare, small—arms contact combat is, one might say, a rarity. Not every fighter in their field will encounter this, but anyone who gets at least 20 km closer to the front line will encounter FPV drones. And to know the capabilities of a drone, to see how it can dive on itself, is a very important experience for anyone who will participate in combat operations," said Izvestia correspondent Valentin Trushnin.

In addition, Ildar Aitov, a serviceman of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, drew attention to the fact that such training is simply necessary. The military needs to know and study all the nuances of fighting UAVs. He noted that adrenaline is always present during training, as there is shooting from real small arms.
