The snow cover, which was newly formed in Central Russia in early April, will remain until the middle of next week, meteorologists told Izvestia.

By Tuesday, April 8, the center of the cyclone, which covered the capital region with snow, will shift towards the Ivanovo region, said Tatiana Pozdnyakova, a leading specialist at the Meteonosti news agency.

"Snow is forecast for Moscow and the region on Tuesday, sometimes heavy. From 2 to 4 mm of precipitation may fall, and the increase in snow cover will be visible," she said.

In the coming days, the air temperature will be negative, the meteorologist added.

"On Wednesday, April 9, the air temperature will be almost nine degrees below normal. Therefore, we cannot expect the snow to melt soon," added Tatiana Pozdnyakova.

According to her, the snow cover in the capital region may come off only by the middle of next week.

By mid-April, snow should also descend in all central regions of the European part of Russia, assured Alexander Shuvalov, head of the Meteo forecasting center. According to him, the long-awaited warming will come from the shores of the Baltic.
