Wild boars in the forests of Moscow will soon have offspring, piglets will be born to them. This was announced on Monday, April 7, by the Moscow Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection.

"After some time after birth, babies will follow their mothers, exploring the world around them under their strict supervision. Wild boars are caring parents, and females carefully protect their striped offspring from danger," the Moscow City News agency quoted the agency as saying.

The birth of piglets is an important event for the ecosystem. Wild boars play a significant role in maintaining the natural balance, helping to loosen the soil and spread the fruits of plants. Meanwhile, experts urge citizens not to approach these animals or try to feed them, writes RT.

Wild pigs carry cubs for about four months – 126-140 days. Before giving birth, the female leaves the herd and builds a nest of dry grass, twigs and moss. This shelter can reach 2-3 m in width and 1.5 m in height. Piglets are born sighted, mobile and with thick fur, reports "Moscow 24". After the piglets are born, the female almost does not leave the nest for 8-10 days, warming the offspring with her warmth, the website clarifies. kp.ru . Only when they get stronger, the female takes them out for short walks, teaches them to find food, dig the ground, and continues to feed them with milk.
